Available Position
The IT Systems Developer will support the development and operation of ASYCUDA in Liberia. The assignment has two available positions and runs for six months, with a possibility of extension.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and program ASYCUDA modules and features for Liberia.
- Provide ASYCUDA IT support to the Liberian Customs IT team.
- Prepare technical documentation for ASYCUDA.
- Develop software applications for customs management needs.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs for microservices architecture.
- Work with Java and frameworks such as Quarkus and Spring Boot.
- Support front-end development using JavaScript.
- Work within an Agile development approach.
Requirements
Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
A Bachelor’s degree in one of these fields plus two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted instead.
Candidates must have experience developing software applications. The vacancy requires at least three years of experience with a Master’s degree or five years with a Bachelor’s degree in software development.
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs using Java is mandatory. Candidates should have experience with microservices architecture and frameworks such as Quarkus and Spring Boot.
Proficiency in JavaScript for front-end development is also required.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI, Jenkins and Splunk is desirable. Knowledge of Agile methods and project management tools is also desirable.
Fluent English is required.
