Programme Officer, Project Coordination
The Programme Officer will work under the supervision of the Director of Infrastructure and coordinate the day-to-day implementation of the Africa RISE-Regional Acceleration Project.
The role will focus on ensuring timely and quality delivery of regional activities, country support and partner contributions. The officer will also help maintain project workplans, budgets and implementation schedules.
Responsibilities
The Programme Officer will:
- Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of RISE-RAP activities.
- Support regional and country-level project activities.
- Coordinate inputs from partners and other stakeholders.
- Consolidate annual and quarterly workplans and budgets.
- Maintain an updated project implementation plan.
- Monitor project activities and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Support the resolution of implementation challenges.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
- Ensure project activities meet required quality and compliance standards.
- Support delivery of the project’s development objectives.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must meet either of the following requirements:
Master’s degree route:
- Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Project Management, Development Studies, Education, Irrigation Engineering or a related field.
- At least two years of progressive experience in programme or project management within an international, regional or national organisation.
Bachelor’s degree route:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Project Management, Development Studies, Education, Irrigation Engineering or a related field.
- At least four years of progressive experience in programme or project management.
A project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 will be an advantage.
Applicants should also have experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder or multi-country projects, preferably those funded by development partners or development finance institutions.
Knowledge of African agricultural transformation, climate resilience, irrigation development and regional integration is also required.
Experience working with African Union agencies, Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and international development partners will be an advantage.

Salary and Benefits
The position offers an indicative basic salary of US$35,044.83 per annum.
Additional benefits include:
- Post Adjustment: 57% of basic salary.
- Housing Allowance: US$21,832.88 per annum.
- Gratuity: 15% of gross salary.
