Available Position
The Information Technology Officer will be based in Yola and provide onsite and remote ICT support to the Yola office, Yobe field locations, and programme teams across Plan International Nigeria.
The officer will work with the Country Office ICT team, programme teams, and service providers to maintain reliable, secure, and effective technology services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and other network infrastructure.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Support fibre, Starlink, VSAT, radio, and other connectivity solutions.
- Provide support for Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Azure AD, Active Directory, and cloud services.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support and resolve ICT incidents and service requests.
- Support cybersecurity measures including endpoint protection, MFA, encryption, patching, and access controls.
- Support ICT requirements for programmes, trainings, workshops, field operations, and new project locations.
- Maintain ICT assets, equipment records, licences, warranties, and vendor relationships.
- Support backup, business continuity, disaster recovery, and restoration of ICT services.
- Maintain technical documentation and provide ICT training and user guidance.
The officer will report directly to the IT Coordinator and work under matrix management with the ZARCH Project Coordinator.
Requirements
Applicants should have a university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field. Completion of NYSC is compulsory.
Candidates need at least four years of relevant experience in ICT, IT infrastructure, networking, systems administration, or user support.
The role requires practical experience with Cisco Meraki infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, security appliances, and the Meraki Dashboard.
Candidates should also have experience with:
- LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Azure AD, and Active Directory.
- Windows operating systems, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Cybersecurity, MFA, endpoint security, access control, and data protection.
- Cloud-based applications and services.
- Fibre, Starlink, VSAT, radio, and other wireless technologies.
- Laptops, desktops, printers, and other ICT equipment.
- Onsite, remote, and telephone-based IT support.
Experience with CCTV/IP surveillance and ICT backup-power systems is an advantage. NGO, humanitarian, or field-based experience is also desirable.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer-service, problem-solving, and teamwork skills are required. Candidates should also be able to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users and manage multiple priorities.
